现在关上窗

Now Close the Windows

Now close the windows and hush all the fields:

If the trees must, let them silently toss;

No bird is singing now, and if there is,

Be it my loss.

It will be long ere the marshes resume,

I will be long ere the earliest bird:

So close the windows and not hear the wind,

But see all wind-stirred.

现在关上窗，

让田野寂静一片；

要是树木一定得摆动，

那么就让它们摇得安静寂然。

现在不会再有鸟儿歌唱，

纵使有，也只能是我的失算。

要等沼泽苏醒，

还有很长时间；

要等最早的鸟儿飞来，

也要再过很多天。

所以关上窗户不去听那风声，

而窗外风儿的骚动却无所不见。

译注：

此诗每段前两句都较长，每句包括两个分句，在译时将每句分成两行，加上原来的最后两行，成为每段六行。双行押韵，全诗押“an”（“ian”、“uan”）韵。
